Bugibba, Malta 27th August 2025

On Wednesday morning we was up early hours and drove to London Southend Airport for our 630am Easyjet flight to Malta.

After landing our TUI transfer picked us up and drove us to our Sunseeker holiday complex hotel in Bugibba St Pauls Bay Malta.

We were let straight into our room. Room 3 on the ground floor.

The room was adequate complete with kettle and fridge.

Not much of a view from the balcony, but at least Mel had somewhere to smoke.

We walked down to the seafront to have a look about.

Buġibba is a zone within St. Paul's Bay in the Northern Region, Malta. Situated adjacent to Qawra, it is a popular tourist resort, containing numerous hotels, restaurants, pubs, archit clubs, and a casino.

During the Tarxien phase of Maltese prehistory, a small temple was built in what is now Buġibba. The temple was excavated between the 1920s and 1950s, and is now located in the grounds of a hotel.

Around 1715, the Order of St. John built Buġibba Battery as part of a series of fortifications defending Malta's coastline. Today, only remains of its foundations and ditch have survived.

In the 1960s, Buġibba began to see rapid development, and it is now a popular tourist resort. It is especially popular among students who go to Malta to learn English. The town's main highlight is its square, which is located along the promenade. The area is full of nightclubs, bars and restaurants.

After a snooze back at the hotel we went out for dinner and a walk down to the jetty and Sirems quay as the sun set.

Sirens Quay, located in the charming St Paul's Bay. This picturesque waterfront area is characterized by its stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea, where the azure waters meet the sandy shores. Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls along the promenade, taking in the vibrant atmosphere created by local vendors, fishermen, and families enjoying the sun. The quay is perfect for those looking to unwind, as the gentle sound of waves lapping against the shore provides a soothing backdrop to a day of exploration.

We had dinner at Yu Fu and a beer. I was still feeling unwell. I had severe diahorrea before I left the UK and struggled to eat all this.

We headed back to the hotel for the night.
